About Thomas C. Turner
1990-2007
Thomas was born in Bellevue, Washington and grew up in Spokane, Bellingham and Snohomish, Washington. He died in a tragic auto accident in late 2007.
Thomas was an active young man with a love of the outdoors, sports, history and aviation. He was an avid soccer player and snowboarder. Born to Laurie Turner and Tom Cock, Thomas is survived by his sister Kelsey, brother Taylor and step sister, Aria.
To preserve his memory and to help others achieve athletic and academic excellence this scholarship was set up. Money for the scholarship is raised through various events and through private donations.
From the Scholarship Fund President:
Thomas loved to play soccer and was not only a good player but a true sportsman. He believed in fairness, and his play exemplified that belief. In all his years of playing Tom never spoke back to a referee, never received a yellow or red card and never argued with a coach. He was a competitor but a gentleman. This scholarship is awarded with that in mind – given to players who love the game, want t win, but play with a larger purpose.
Tom was also a fan of the game. He watched college and professional games, and his love of the sport culminated in a trip to Germany in 2006 to watch the World Cup.
